Probate Court: Concealed Weapon Permits

There are fraudulent websites circulating that advertise discounted gun permits that can be applied and paid for online. This is not accurate!

Georgia Weapons Carry Licenses can only be issued after appearing in person at the Probate Court.

Effective Monday, November 26, 2018, public computers will be available at Probate Court for completion of Weapons Carry License applications through a user-friendly guide-and-file system.  The Probate Court will no longer accept paper applications in the near future. Previously, the Court hoped to offer a guide and file system on November 5, but a complication developed requiring a delay. Please have patience as we work hard to make the Weapons Carry Process easier for the public.

Effective September 1, 2018, applicants for a weapons carry license (WCL) will have their fingerprints scanned on site at the Probate Court. This is part of our effort to make your application process less expensive and more efficient. With the on-site fingerprinting, the cost for an original license application will be reduced to $82.75.

For a renewal permit, the cost will be $38.00 effective September 1, 2018.
